The Clock Without Hands: Twenty-Six Years Against Oblivion
For twenty-six years a man paid rent on an apartment frozen in 1999, so that time could not evict the truth.

This poem about waiting for justice tells of an apartment in Nagoya kept exactly as it was since 1999, its door closed on a crime no one dared erase. For twenty-six years Satoru paid the rent and let the dust gather over the truth, until in 2025 DNA finally spoke and the killer stepped out of the shadows. Imad calls it an epic of waiting rather than of crime.
The Epic of the Apartment That Refused to Forget
It was never merely an apartment in Nagoya.
It was a clock frozen inside an open wound.
Since 1999,
بقي الباب مغلقاً،the door remained closed,
لكن الزمن هو الذي كان محبوساً في الداخل.yet it was time itself that was imprisoned within.
There,
على الأرض التي شربت الدم،upon a floor that had drunk blood,
لم يجرؤ أحد على محو الأثر.no one dared erase the trace.
Everything remained as it was.
The chair waited.
The wall remembered.
And silence guarded the place like an ancient soldier.
People told him:
The story is over.
And he answered with silence:
لا.No.
Some stories do not end.
They merely wait for science to grow.
Twenty-six years.
Twenty-six winters and summers.
Twenty-six years of rent and waiting.
While the world raced toward the future,
He stood guard over the past.
As if his soul had become a lone lantern
في آخر شارعٍ منسيٍّ في العدالة.at the end of justice's forgotten street.
And the dried drops of blood
تشبه رسائل مختومة بالشمع الأحمر،were like letters sealed with red wax,
لا يستطيع قراءتهاwhich no one could read
إلا زمنٌ لم يولد بعد.until a future age was born.
2025.Then came 2025.
And science finally knocked on the door.
The DNA awakened
بعد نومٍ أطول من كثير من الحروب.from a sleep longer than many wars.
And the blood spoke.
Yes... the blood spoke.
For sometimes
أبلغ من ألف شاهد.speaks louder than a thousand witnesses.
Then the killer stepped out of the shadows.
Not a monster from legend.
Nor a ghost from the dead.
But a human being who lived among people
ربع قرنٍ كاملاًfor a quarter century
وهو يحمل الجريمة في قلبه.while carrying the crime in their heart.
And when the secret finally collapsed,
بدا كأن الشقة نفسهاit seemed as though the apartment itself
تنفست للمرة الأولى.breathed for the first time.
As if the walls whispered:
We have waited long enough.
As for Satoru,
فلم يكن يحرس شقة.he was never guarding an apartment.
He was guarding a promise.
And with every rent payment,
He prevented time from being evicted.
He let the dust accumulate
لأن الحقيقة كانت نائمة تحته.because the truth was sleeping beneath it.
This is not an epic of crime.
It is an epic of waiting.
An epic of a man who stood
بين الحب والموت،between love and death,
واختار أن يبقى حارساً للذكرى.and chose to remain a guardian of memory.
Some people bury their dead.
But he,
فدفن عمره كلهburied an entire lifetime
كي لا تُدفن الحقيقة معهم.so that truth would not be buried with them.
Justice may be delayed.
But sometimes it only needs
إلى قلبٍ يرفض المغادرة.a heart that refuses to leave.
