The Epic of the Last Memory
Crowds remember only the last note of a song, but ninety minutes cannot erase twenty years of brilliance.

This poem about Messi begins with a world that forgets too quickly: yesterday it carried a hero on its shoulders, today one stumble sends it looking for stones. Imad sets the footballer beside leaders, scholars and artists judged by a single failure, and argues that time is fairer than comments and calmer than headlines.
The world is not cruel because it hates heroes...It is cruel because it forgets too quickly.
Yesterday...they carried your name upon their shoulders.
Today...one stumble is enoughfor them to search for another stone to throw.
Such has the world beensince humanity first learned to applaud.
Crowds do not remember the whole song. They remember only the final note.
They forget the journey. They remember only the last station.
Look at history.
How many leaderssaved entire nations, only to be judgedby the battle they lost.
How many scholarschanged civilization, yet were mockedfor a single mistake.
How many artistspainted a thousand masterpieces, yet people debatedonly one.
Messiis not merely a player.
He is an entire chapterin football's history.
Ninety minutescannot erase him.
One matchcannot summarizetwenty years of brilliance.
Stars do not disappearbecause a cloudpasses before them.
The problem is not football.
It is human nature.
We celebrate success, yet secretly enjoy witnessing failure.
We build statues quickly, then destroy them even faster.
We create legends, then raceto prove they never were.
Timedoes not obeythe emotions of the crowd.
It is fairerthan comments, calmer than headlines, and truer than noise.
Years from now,no one will rememberthe angry commentswritten after one game.
But the worldwill remember the childwho wore number 10and dreamedof becoming Messi.
This is not Messi's story.
Nor Argentina's story.
It is the storyof every personwho devoted himself to excellence, only to discoverthat people may forgeta thousand achievementsand remembera single mistake.
Therefore, never let your worthdepend on the applause of the crowd.
Never allowone moment of weaknessto redefine your life.
True historyis never writtenby spectators.
It is writtenby thosewho keep walkinglong afterthe applause has faded.
