The Epic of Relief Hidden Behind Closed Doors
A consolation for anyone who thinks the road has ended: every hardship hides an ease that has not yet appeared.
By Architect Imad DarouichUpdated 2 min read

This poem about hope after hardship speaks to anyone who believes the road has ended. Imad reminds the reader that some pains are messages along the way, that stars appear only in darkness and dawn is born from the night, and that when God delays something He is arranging a better time for it, bringing ease after hardship.
Not everything that hurts you is an ending.
Some pains are messages along the road.
And some tears are keys to hidden doors.
And some breakings are lessons for
wings.
When the horizon narrows and the
sky seems a prison.
The stars are already preparing
for dawn.
Be gentle with yourself.
No night has sworn to remain forever.
No winter has ever imprisoned spring.
No wound has stayed open forever.
How many believed the road had ended.
Only to discover it was the start of a greater one.
How many doors God has closed.
Only to open behind it an entire city of
light.
Every sorrow has an appointment with
departure.
Every cloud carries rain within its heart.
Every hardship hides an unseen expansion.
Even mountains that appear eternal.
One day become dust.
Then what of sorrow?
And what of worry?
And what of heavy days?
Affliction, no matter how long it lasts.
Is but a passing chapter in the book of time.
A human is not the child of a single moment.
But the child of the entire journey.
If life grows heavy upon you.
Lift your head a little.
And look toward the sky.
You will find that stars appear only
in darkness.
And dawn is born only from the womb
of night.
And when God delays something.
He is arranging a more beautiful appointment for it.
So be at peace.
No hardship narrows except that it widens.
No hope dies except another is born.
No window is closed by destiny.
Without opening a thousand in the heavens.
Between tears and relief lies a step
unseen by human eyes.
But God sees it.
And ordains it.
And brings ease after hardship.
And dawn after night.
And after patience, a beautiful
astonishment.
