Imad tells the life of Leonardo da Vinci in short lines: born in 1452 in Vinci, near Florence, the son of a notary, he trained in the workshop of Andrea Verrocchio and became painter, engineer, scientist and inventor. The poem passes through his flying machines and moving bridges to the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, and to his death in France in 1519.

وُلد طفل في قرية صغيرة قرب فلورنسا.A child was born in a small village near Florence.
كان اسم القرية The name of the village
فينشي. Was Vinci.
ومنها From it
جاء اسمه. Came his name.
ليوناردو دافنشي. Leonardo da Vinci.
لم يكن ابن ملك. He was not the son of a king.
ولا ابن عالم.Nor the son of a great scholar.
بل ابن كاتب بسيط.But the son of a simple notary.
لكن في ذهنهYet in his mind
كان هناك عالم كامل.There was an entire universe.
كان يسألHe kept asking
أسئلة لا تنتهي.Endless questions.
لماذا يطير الطائر؟Why does the bird fly?
كيف يعمل القلب؟How does the heart work?
كيف تتحرك المياه؟How does water move?
كان يرسمHe drew
كل ما يراه.Everything he saw.
الجبال.Mountains.
الأنهار.Rivers.
الوجوه.Faces.
والأجساد البشرية.And the human body.
في فلورنساIn Florence
تعلم الفنHe learned art
في ورشةIn the workshop
أندريا فيروكيو.Of Andrea Verrocchio.
وهناكThere
بدأت موهبتهHis talent
تدهش الجميع.Amazed everyone.
لم يكن رسامًا فقط.He was not only a painter.
كان مهندسًا.He was an engineer.
وعالمًا.A scientist.
ومخترعًا.And an inventor.
رسمHe designed
آلات طيران.Flying machines.
ودبابات.Tanks.
وجسورًا متحركة.Moving bridges.
لكن العالمBut the world
تذكره اليومRemembers him today
بسبب لوحة واحدة.Because of one painting.
الموناليزا.The Mona Lisa.
ابتسامة صغيرةA small smile
حيّرت العالم خمسة قرون.That puzzled the world for five centuries.
ورسم أيضًاHe also painted
العشاء الأخير.The Last Supper.
واحدة من أعظم اللوحاتOne of the greatest paintings
في تاريخ الفن.In the history of art.
مات ليوناردوLeonardo died
في فرنسا سنة 1519.In France in 1519.
لكن عبقريتهBut his genius
لم تمت.Did not die.
