Ten chapters follow the German architect and designer Peter Behrens from painting and his own house in Darmstadt to the founding of the Deutscher Werkbund, his work for AEG and its Turbine Hall in Berlin, the Mannesmann offices and the embassy in Saint Petersburg. Gropius, Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier all worked in his studio.
