Sharbat: The Green Eyes of Exile

شربات: عيون المنفى الخضراء

By Architect Imad Darouich

This book reads the life of Sharbat, the refugee girl from Afghanistan whose green eyes made her portrait famous, from the tent before the photograph to the reunion seventeen years later. Nine short chapters are followed by poems in which the author and Sharbat speak in turn, his Ghouta answering her Kabul.
