Damascus Sketch: An Epic of a City Trying to Remember Itself
لوحة دمشق: ملحمة مدينة تحاول أن تتذكر نفسها
A dream in ten chapters: summoned by Damascus to draw her, an architect in exile faces an old door, his childhood house, Souq al-Hamidiyah, Mount Qasioun and a clerk holding the city's file. A closing section leaves room in the sketch for those who never returned and for those who live in the city now.
